I find that the XML schema for HDT-SMP physics is simultaneously more granular in its control and easier to understand than regular HDT-PE settings, so it’s relatively easy to tweak the settings to your preferences. The modder who compiled the all-in-one FOMOD that I link to above has a few pretty useful tutorials that will at least get you started. The HDT-SMP file that I link to uses commas to delineate floats in all of it’s config files if you live in the US or another country that uses periods as decimal designators you’ll need to change all of those commas to periods or nothing will work. I used Notepad to batch change it in all files, which took seconds. (very important - tells what objects are controlled by what XML files) and (allows you to choose GPU or CPU processing and tweak the solver settings defaults are probably OK unless you’re having performance issues) \skse\plugins\hdtSkinnedMeshConfigs has all of the control files for SMP.
(this is the default body control XML file in the all-in-one version of SMP that I link to). Personally I’ve disabled the thigh, vagina, and belly physics (just commented them out in cbbe-hdt-vag.xml) for simplicity’s sake, and because I think they’re useless.
